How I Got Here
I'm a board certified clinical pharmacist with the heart of a teacher. I completed my Doctor of Pharmacy degree at Palm Beach Atlantic University and postgraduate residency training at Cleveland Clinic Martin Health where I work as an inpatient oncology pharmacist optimizing medication use in cancer care. I evaluate and monitor chemotherapy regimens, perform consultations for medication dosing, such as insulin, warfarin, parenteral nutrition, and antibiotics; as well as anticoagulation monitoring, antimicrobial stewardship, and patient education. I'm involved in committee work to continuously improve patient care at the institutional policy level, serve as preceptor and advisor to pharmacy residents, as well as clinical professor for my alma mater to students of the Lloyd L. Gregory School of Pharmacy.
Have you ever heard of extended access to a pharmacist where people can submit questions and receive thoughtful and well-researched answers with quick turnaround times, set up virtual visits to participate in comprehensive medication review, discuss the awesome benefits of personalized medicine using pharmacogenetics (how people respond to drugs differently based on their genetic makeup), and engage in one-on-one education sessions about a myriad of health topics? Odds are probably not. I want to offer clients and their loved ones a healthcare experience that is exceptional, something uncommon in this industry. They'll feel empowered, more knowledgeable, and confidently become more active participants in their health.
I believe medications serve an important role in our health, but less is more. Whenever possible, I prefer to reduce or eliminate them. If they're needed, I make sure everything is optimized—proper medication, dose, route, frequency, storage, management of side effects and drug interactions, and monitoring for anything else that might be affected. I believe in helping you to be in control of your health. I'll often make recommendations about things you should or shouldn't do based on my best clinical judgement, but will always respect your values, beliefs, and choices.
If you think working with me would be a good fit for you or someone you know, I'd love the opportunity to connect and answer any questions you may have. You can also contact me to set up a complimentary Q&A session.
